On the day, women keep fast whole day and pray for husband's prosperity and long life.
"Performing the pooja and spending time with our friends afterwards helps us to forget that we are fasting for the entire day. The day goes on smoothly and these activities act like boosters," said Sapna Bhasin, a housewife. Singing the Veer Kudi story with everyone, Deepti Mangal, celebrating her 49th Karwa Chauth said, "Performing the Karwa pooja with so many ladies creates a different environment and nothing is missed out. The young ones participate actively and learn about the traditions as well."
On Wednesday, many men were also seen pampering their wives by planning surprises and babysitting the kids throughout the day while the ladies got ready for the evening pooja and celebrations.
